An inflator adds air; it does not inspect the tire

  1. Read the placard.Door-jamb sticker or owner manual for cold pressure. Not the sidewall maximum.
  2. Check cold when you can.Heat changes roadside readings.
  3. Look at the tire first.Damaged valve, object in tread, bulge, or fast loss means stop. The inflator only adds air.
  4. Confirm the number.Auto-stop is a convenience. Cross-check with a separate gauge and the vehicle target.
  5. Know when to stop.Will not hold pressure, visible damage, or unsafe location: spare or roadside help.

Match reach and duty cycle to the tire.

The placard gives cold pressure. The inflator must reach each valve, run from the power you keep in the car, and finish without exceeding its duty cycle.

Auto-stop simplifies a top-up. It does not find a puncture, verify gauge accuracy, or decide if the tire is safe to drive.
